Are you a leader in the corporate sector looking to increase your impact? Are you striving for greater results from your team? Do you have endless competing priorities and want more time to connect to vision and purpose? In moments of reflection do you wonder; how could I take my leadership further? Have off the shelf leadership programmes taught you the theory, but not how to really make it happen?

We believe true leadership can’t be taught in a classroom, but it can be learned - that’s why our programmes are different. We take big global issues and partner you with the most creative organisations working on them, from across the world. Then we challenge you to collaborate, coach, innovate and create impact, far outside your comfort zone. This expands what you believe is possible, grows the impact you can have, builds your confidence and helps you to creatively take ideas into reality, all in service of both your own leadership and a critical global issue.

Our January 2023 online programme is a unique, immersive, once-in-a-life-time opportunity to apply and develop your leadership, connect with purpose, and contribute climate change action in Uganda - all from your own desk.

Why CLIMATE CHANGE?

Climate change is increasing the prevalence of disease and the intensity of severe weather as well as causing water scarcity in arid regions. In Uganda this will deliver a devastating combination of adverse impacts for the poorest, which will make adapting much more difficult. While developing countries have contributed the least to the problem, they are bearing the brunt of the impact, jeopardizing developmental gains in areas such as health and education.

WHO IS THE PROGRAMME FOR?

This programme is aimed at leaders who manage teams or departments and are seeking to continuously assess their personal strengths and weaknesses, adapt and improve their leadership skills, and identify new ways to deliver results in complex and challenging environments.

Research shows those with a stronger connection to purpose are more agile and dynamic leaders*. If you are a leader looking to free yourself from preconceived views of what is possible, strengthen your capacity for impact, and grow your capability to deliver, this programme is for you.

You do not need an environmental background to join this programme.

WHAT WILL YOU walk away witH?

  • A renewed focus on vision and purpose and ways to convey this to a team

  • A greater ability to empower and coach high-performing teams

  • New skills to influence diverse stakeholders

  • Experience in creating sustained change with limited resources

  • Improved critical thinking in complex and challenging environments

  • A sense of achievement having made a practical impact to address issues of climate change

WHAT WILL THE PROGRAMME INVOLVE?

As a corporate leader, you will work in a small diverse team together with inspiring colleagues from the Non-for-Profit sector from three organisations in Uganda working on climate change (NGOs).

The programme combines leadership theory with live discovery visits, meetings with experts and co-creating and pitching innovative ideas. On the programme you don't just learn about leadership, you experience and apply it to a real-world challenge.  It is a unique opportunity to hone your leadership skills as you work alongside your NGO colleagues. You will face problems you have never faced before, and rise to the challenge - you will be inspired and leave with a greater ability to meet leadership challenges.

STEP 1: Prepare

A two-hour orientation session and four hours of group coaching, video materials and short readings to prepare you for the leadership journey.

STEP 2: IMMERSE

You will start by building relationships and establishing trust with Ugandan and corporate colleagues in your team, then learn, and immediately apply, rigorous leadership theory bringing the learning experience alive. Working outside your comfort zone whilst thinking about leadership deepens the learning.  On this fast-paced programme, theory is immediately put into practice during discovery visits which force you to be curious and gain insights you can use to act. Your leadership skills will be further tested as you work together to plan for impact. The immersion reaches a peak as you and your teammates pitch your ideas to senior stakeholders and experts in the field.

STEP 3: SUSTAIN

You will continue to meet with your team for six months to test your innovation idea and support the execution plans.

INTRODUCING THE NGOS
